The National Scene-The Sunday Political Talk Show Report on 3/13/16

It’s all Trump “violence” all day. There’s the weirdest sound byte involving Hillary, AIDS and Nancy Reagan. Finally, Peggy Noonan needs to shut up.

FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and John Kasich.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Republican presidential candidates Ted Cruz; Trump; Kasich.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders; Trump; Kasich.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Trump; Kasich; Sanders.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Trump; Kasich; Rubio; Sanders.

The FreeRepublic Sunday Talk Show Thread

Fox News Sunday

Of course we had Karl Rove and his stupid white board.

Rove proceeded to show us how Trump can lose the nomination. The demonstration involved writing in 17 colors on the blackboard, using the back of the board as needed, railroad tracks, super delegates and perhaps a few convention bombs.

He’s still an establishment boob and will support whatever it takes to overthrow the will of the people for his paycheck.

NBC’s- Meet the Press

In the interest of fair and balanced, let me say that I am a Ted Cruz supporter and have been from the beginning.

sf1.31.16sundaypolimeetpresstedcruzSome might call me prejudiced, thusly, but Cruz gave the most sane and logical reason why Kasich and Rubio voters should pull the lever for him.

“There is no way either Kasich or Rubio can get the 1200+ delegates,” as I paraphrase Cruz. “I would ask Kasich and Rubio supporters to pull that lever for me, as I am the only current candidate with any chance of beating Trump.”

It’s good logic because go on, there’s no way Kasich or Rubio’s going to win that nomination. If those “anti-Trump” people really mean it, they’ll do like Cruz suggest.

CBS’ Face the Nation

I really can’t stand Peggy Noonan.

Oh she’s a very good political writer and she gets my admiration for that.

But she comes off to me as stuck up and snobby and I suggest it’s time she goes away.

On Face the Nation’s round table, Noon says, as I indirectly quote: “He can’t say that ‘Islam’ hates us.

Referring, of course, to Donald Trump’s recent loud proclamation that millions of Muslims hate America.

He did NOT say “Islam hates us”. And to my complete admiration, when confronted by a haughty host who asked Trump if he really meant that the some 6 billion Muslims on the planet really hated America, Trump nodded and says “many of them do”.

First, what the hell is the point of saying that while many millions of Muslims hate us, not ALL of them hate us?

Just because every damn one of those creep Jihadists and their enablers don’t hate and want to destroy us doesn’t mean it’s a good situation.

They tried to bring this country down on 9-11-01 and they never give up with their endless suicide attacks and now that fine, fine ISIS group we all so admire.

By me, Noonan is part of the problem. Because until we admit just WHERE the problem is, it will never go away.

Peggy Noonan clings tight to a worthy past that is not even near applicable today.

Political Cartoon of the Week

CNN’s State of the Union

It was on this Sunday political talk show that the weirdest exchange of them all took place.

It involved Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Nancy Reagan and AIDS.

Seems that Hillary gave an interview expressing her admiration for Nancy Reagan, who Hillary says was an ardent advocate for AIDS research, a raging epidemic in the 1980’s of the Reagan era.

sundaypoli3.13.16nancyreagansfThe host asked Bernie Sanders if Hillary was wrong about that declaration and Sanders said he doesn’t know what Hillary is talking about.

“In fact, the Reagans blocked any national discussion about AIDS,” Bernie declared, saying that the Reagan reluctance to discuss AIDS caused many deaths that might have been avoided had an open dialogue encouraged research and funding.

Wow. How mean can you be? Ronald and Nancy Reagan are now both dead.

Bernie Sanders supporters are alive and dumb, mean and nasty.

My Take

Every show had discussions on the recent protests at the Donald Trump rallies and it was a big disgusting.

It wasn’t the rally Trump attendees who caused all the problems. It was caused by outside groups forming groups to break into a legal political gathering so THAT’S the problem, not Donald Trump and his alleged fiery rhetoric.

Boy but it’s fun to watch those establishment types losing their minds.
I do not respond to comments on my posts. I certainly have no problem with such commentary and, indeed, encourage it. But I’ve written my piece and I don’t want to argue it further.
