Bernie Sanders warned to cut the anti-Hillary rhetoric, a surprise pundit turns up from my past, and that bathroom bill, let’s discuss.
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee; Paul Manafort, adviser to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders; former Sen. Bob Graham, D-Fla.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sanders; Republican presidential candidate John Kasich.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sanders; Reince Priebus, Republican National Committee chairman; Charles Koch, chairman and chief executive of Koch Industries.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Sanders; Donald Trump Jr.
Sharyl Attkisson’s Full Measure Full Measure sits down with Senator Lindsey Graham to discuss his recent trip to the Middle East and North Africa with U2 lead singer Bono.
We begin with NBC’s Meet the Press and my discovery of former Merryland Loot-Gov Michael Steele who is a guest pundit on this show. I am to understand that Steele is a regular guest on Morning Joe, goodness, and here I thought the man was a conservative.
Bernie Sanders was a guest on Meet the Press this fine Sunday and goodness, has the Hillary camp been beating on this man to stop attacking Hillary? More on this later.
On This Week-ABC-we had the National GOP Chair Reince Priebus and goodness didn’t he over and over again deny any shenanigans would be going on at the Republican national convention in Cleveland?
Charles Koch, one of the famous Koch brothers, also paid a visit on this show. Koch was asked if he had any problems supporting Hillary Clinton and something seems weird here in that the interviewer infers that the Koch brothers MIGHT be supporting Hillary. Charles Koch responds that they will not support Hillary unless she changes her campaign rhetoric.
Fox News Sunday wins the prize as the most interesting talk show of the day, goodness. First we had Paul Manafort, Donald Trump’s new campaign chair. Lord that man talked out of both sides of his mouth and then out the middle. The big theme was The Donald’s new image as being more presidential which seemed to have lasted for one speech.
Manafort said that the folks on the Trump trail want to hear him call Ted Cruz a liar and they love to hear Hillary referred to as “Crooked”.
So during campaign stops, as Manafort expertly explained, Trump will ramp up the name calling. But during such as debates and policy speeches he will try to sound more somber.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz was also on Fox News Sunday and she didn’t deny that Bernie Sanders was told to shut up with his attacks on Hillary. She did say, as if chewing on a mouth full of marbles, that while nobody told Bernie to keep it down, there is always the challenge of re-uniting the party once the campaign ends and this is more difficult the more fiery the rhetoric.
In other words, Bernie WAS told to calm it down. Hillary is the queen, after all, and it is her turn. Bernie’s just a side show.
Over on CNN’s State of the Union we had mention of Monica Lewinsky as a possible champion for Bernie Sanders. Donald Trump jr. was a guest on this show and he did a great job. Must be nice to have children that know how to act professional and the right things to say.
Political Cartoon of the Week
Only Face the Nation had a Prince tribute this Sunday and thank God for that. Not that there’s not enough publicity for this loser-burger not worth our time.
Sure, Purple Rain’s a pretty good song and the fellow had a flair for fashion.
But he killed himself like they all do because there’s something about the human spirit that cannot be constantly indulged with no constraints of budgets or life.
Like Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston before him, Prince goes down with shame.
On Fox News Sunday it was mentioned that Politifact, the online fact checker thinks it knows everything, has not one record of any crime committed by a transgender type using the wrong bathroom as assigned by birth.
That’s not how it works people and maybe somebody ought to tell Politifact.
First, they make it law that anybody can use any bathroom they want.
So far, so good.
But it yon reader does not think that soon, given time and lack of attention to what’s going on, there are plenty of perverts out there that will, at first softly, but soon, take advantage of how easy it is to gain access, say, to the lady’s rest rooms and do some peeping.
This will have nothing to do with transgender or being kind to all the males really born female in their mind, God bless.
THAT’s when we’ll have a real mess.
Silly us, out here in la-la land living life and knowing how these things work.
I do not respond to comments on my posts. I certainly have no problem with such commentary and, indeed, encourage it. But I’ve written my piece and I don’t want to argue it further.
